I Got a sick little boy in the studio with me today. It’s always been hard for me to paint and take care of the kids at the same time. I can only be one thing at a time. Art making takes so much focus for me and when the kids were super little, painting wasn’t a priority. But I think in the last year I’m getting better and juggling both so long as I have projects on the go. Painting small and often has helped me open up to ideas and get into a creative flow. The downside to daily painting I find is that it keeps me small and the ideas are endless. So I am really trying to jump into larger scale paintings within a series.
